Capitol Police Communications Division

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety, Capitol Police Communications Center is a 24/7 operation which is responsible for answering and initiating all calls for police and security services at all facilities within the Capitol Complex Improvement District.

Dispatchers assigned to the Communications Center monitor numerous surveillance camera systems, fire, burglary, panic and intrusion alarm systems, as well as door access card systems for several State office Buildings throughout the Capitol Complex District, including the Bolton Building in Biloxi and the State Service Center in Hattiesburg.

The Communications Center provides continuous communications between the Dispatchers and Law Enforcement Officers on patrol in the Capitol Complex District, as well as providing access to the FBI National Crimes Information Center for vehicle registration and wanted person’s inquiries. The Communications Center Dispatchers receive and handle several hundred calls per day from citizens and state employees requesting information or assistance throughout the Capitol Complex District.
